Alice and the Looking Glass

Poem and Image by Martha Di Giovanni

Alice, Alice, through the glass,

A world of wonder, she did amass.

A chessboard land, with queens and kings,

And talking flowers, with many things.

A Jabberwocky, with eyes of flame,

A creature fierce, that none could tame.

A Walrus and a Carpenter,

With oysters, they did engender.

A boat beneath a sunny sky,

Echoes fade and memories die.

But Alice's adventures, they remain,

In our hearts, forever to sustain.
