| Poem and Image by Martha Di Giovanni |
Aging parents, once so strong,
Now they're weak, they don't belong.
Their children, grown and on their own,
Should care for them, they're not alone.
But some forget the love they've known,
And leave their parents all alone.
They take their money, steal their pride,
And leave them with no place to hide.
The pain they cause, it's hard to bear,
For parents who once loved and cared.
They're left with nothing, not a dime,
And children who should love, but have no time.
It's time to stop this cruel abuse,
And show our parents love and use.
We'll care for them, we'll make them proud,
And never let them feel alone or down.
